Using a Career Coach??

What exactly is a career coach? I know what a volleyball coach is....or a softball coach, but a CAREER coach??

Anyone out there have any experience with a career coach? Anyone have a story to tell?

    A career coach is like a football coach. Only nicer. And usually better smelling.

    I think it's slightly bogus, but perhaps I am biased, as I am a psychotherapist and I think I do what a career coach does and more.
    If you really really want to understand your abilities, what you need is psychological testing which is not career coaching. A complete test of IQ, personality traits and more is very expensive however.

    A few sessions of short term psychotherapy might help you focus and figure out what's blocking you.
